Marco’s Pizza isn’t just in the pizza business; we’re in the people business. Behind our expansive national growth is a talented network of pizza franchise owners, managers, employees and corporate support staff that push the envelope every day.

At our recent annual convention, we made sure to celebrate the people who make Marco’s Pizza one of the top pizza franchises around. Read on to find out what makes Marco’s Pizza franchisees the best of the best, and decide if you think this is the right business for you.

We celebrate all of our people at Marco’s Pizza, but at our convention we also highlighted some particularly standout individuals at our awards ceremony. Here are this year’s Marco’s Pizza award winners:

  • Operator of the Year – Mike Fox
  • Franchisee of the Year – Lisa Ostgen
  • Area Representative of the Year – Matt Baker
  • MVP Award – Megan Thomas, Support Center
  • Legacy Award – Bryon Stephens
  • Presidents Club Award – Ron Stilwell and Joe Jaros

Our award winners demonstrate what’s possible with Marco’s Pizza, achieving strong sales growth and standout guest satisfaction. They’re also part of a supportive network dedicated to helping everyone grow – for example, Operator of the Year Mike Fox is not only a franchise partner in two locations, he’s also an operations consultant helping grow the entire Orlando, FL, market.

“He supports his operators by helping them focus on their people – hiring and properly training great talent to make every restaurant successful,” said Vice President of Franchise Operations Danny Singh while presenting Fox with the award. “He brings energy and knowledge to the business and has helped build a very strong market that achieves positive comps year after year.”

Franchisee of the Year Lisa Ostgen grew her sales by 27% year-over-year thanks to her strong focus on local store marketing, building community relationships and providing an excellent guest experience.

“Lisa is a go-to person for help with local store marketing ideas and shares these best practices with others,” said Vice President of New Territory Development Keith Sizemore.

Another award winner, AR of the Year Matt Baker, is not only an area representative in Ohio but also one of our longest-tenured owners. Baker has been a franchisee for 30 years, and started as an employee at age 17.

“It all boils down to three things: passion for the brand, engagement in the business and leadership,” said Sizemore. “Matt consistently demonstrates all three.”
