Marco’s Pizza™  franchise has been ranked No. 8 on the Franchise Times’  annual “Fast & Serious” list for the second year in row. The annual ranking evaluates franchise companies that show strong staying power and sustainable growth over a period of three years.

Franchise Times, a national publication that targets multi-unit franchisees and franchisors,

identifies 40 companies for the yearly “Fast & Serious” ranking. The rating system analyzes data from the magazine’s Top 200 and Next 300 lists, and includes percentage and dollar amounts of sales growth, number of units added over the past three years and percentage of growth — with more weight given to growth in years two and three. The magazine chose the companies on this year’s list from a field of 331 franchise systems that had more than $40 million in sales.

Some pizza chains may cut corners and use frozen cheeses and pre-chopped toppings, but not Marco’s Pizza™ franchise. Our cheese is never frozen, and we slice our veggies in our kitchens every day.

It’s not surprising that Marco’s Pizza™ franchise has made the list again. Marco’s recently topped the 600-unit mark, and our goal is to reach 1,000 stores by early 2017. Plans also are under way to expand internationally to serve growing demand in India, Saudi Arabia and other countries in Asia and Africa.

Founded in Toledo, Ohio, in 1978, Marco’s has become the fastest-growing pizza franchise in the nation. Our homemade recipes and fresh ingredients are in the Italian tradition, and we are the only top 20 pizza franchise in the country that was founded by a native Italian.

Not only were we recognized as one of the “fast and serious” growing franchises in the nation by Franchise Times, Entrepreneur magazine recently awarded Marco’s the distinction of being a “top opportunity.” Unlike our competitors, Marco’s Pizza™ hasn’t saturated the market, and we still have prime locations for restaurants in many areas around the country. More and more, customers are turning to Marco’s Pizza™ because of our Ah!thentic Italian style, and as a result, we are primed to take a bigger bite out of the $46 billion per year U.S. pizza market.
